Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Trade The Hill (the "Service", the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Trade The Hill ("we", "us", "our"). You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service.

2. Description of the service

Trade The Hill is a data intelligence platform that:

• Aggregates and displays congressional stock trade disclosures filed under the Stock Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act (STOCK Act)
• Provides AI-generated analysis, conflict-of-interest scoring and pattern detection on public trade data
• Tracks US government contract awards and procurement pipeline data from public sources including SAM.gov and USASpending.gov
• Offers portfolio simulation and backtesting tools based on historical disclosure data
• Sends alerts and notifications based on user-configured criteria

All data displayed on the platform originates from publicly available government disclosures. Congressional trading data is delivered to us through licensed third-party data providers who collect and parse the official filings; we then process, enrich and score that data. We do not have access to non-public information. We do not engage in trading ourselves.

3. Critical financial disclaimer

You expressly acknowledge and agree that:

• All content on this platform is for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on Trade The Hill constitutes financial, investment, legal or tax advice.
• Past performance does not guarantee future results. Simulated backtesting results are hypothetical and do not represent actual trading outcomes.
• Congressional trade disclosures may be delayed up to 45 days from the date of the actual trade. By the time a disclosure is published, market conditions may have changed significantly.
• AI-generated analysis and conflict scores are algorithmic outputs, not professional financial opinions. They may contain errors, omissions or inaccuracies.
• You are solely responsible for your investment decisions. Always consult a qualified, licensed financial advisor before making any investment.
• Copying or mirroring a politician's trading strategy involves significant financial risk and may not be suitable for your personal circumstances.
• The platform makes no representation that any strategy, signal or recommendation will be profitable.

Trade The Hill is not registered as an investment adviser with any regulatory authority including the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), or the Romanian Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF).

4. Account registration

To access certain features you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, complete and current information during registration
• Maintain the security of your password and not share your account with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.

5. Subscription plans and billing

5.1 Free plan

A free tier is available with limited features. No credit card is required for the free plan. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free tier at any time with reasonable notice.

5.2 Pro plan

The Pro plan is available for $29 per month (or such other price as we may set from time to time). The Pro plan provides access to additional features as described on our pricing page.

5.3 Billing

• Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance
• Payment is processed by Stripe. By subscribing you agree to Stripe's terms of service
• Prices are shown in US Dollars (USD). Your bank may charge currency conversion fees
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice

5.4 Cancellation and refunds

• 7-day money-back guarantee: if you are not satisfied with your first Pro subscription, contact us at support@tradethehill.io within 7 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full — no questions asked. The guarantee applies once per customer, to the first payment of your first subscription.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then
• Outside the 7-day guarantee, we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, though we may offer refunds at our discretion in exceptional circumstances — contact us at support@tradethehill.io
• Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you may have under EU consumer protection law

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Reproduce, resell or redistribute our data or analysis without written permission
• Scrape, crawl or systematically extract data from the platform using automated tools
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or extract our AI models or algorithms
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Transmit any malware, virus or harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Use the platform in connection with any market manipulation scheme
• Share your account credentials with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination without refund.

7. Intellectual property

The platform, its design, algorithms, AI models, conflict scoring methodology, and all original content are owned by Trade The Hill and protected by intellectual property laws.

The underlying congressional disclosure data is sourced from US government public records and is not subject to copyright. However, our presentation, analysis, scoring and enrichment of that data is our intellectual property.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use during your subscription period.

8. Data accuracy disclaimer

While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, you acknowledge that:

• Congressional disclosures may contain errors made by the filing politician or their staff
• Disclosures may be delayed, amended or corrected after initial publication
• Third-party data providers who supply us with parsed disclosure data may introduce errors, omissions or delays, and our own processing may occasionally contain errors
• AI-generated analysis is probabilistic and may be incorrect
• Government contract pipeline data is based on public procurement notices and may change
• Historical backtesting does not account for real-world factors such as liquidity, slippage or taxes

We do not warrant the completeness, accuracy or timeliness of any information on the platform.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
• We expressly disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement
• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages including loss of profits, loss of data or financial losses arising from your use of the Service
• Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In such cases, our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trade The Hill and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Any investment decisions you make based on information from the platform
• Your violation of any third-party rights

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion option in your settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including the financial disclaimer, limitation of liability and indemnification sections.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Romania for any disputes arising under these Terms.

If you are located in the European Union, you may also have rights under EU consumer protection law which these Terms do not override.

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at legal@tradethehill.io to resolve disputes informally.

13. Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days notice of material changes by:

• Emailing registered users
• Displaying a prominent notice on the platform
• Updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page

Continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
