Members of Congress trade stocks with knowledge the rest of us will never have. We built the tool that levels the playing field — for everyone.
Members of the US Congress sit on powerful committees — Armed Services, Intelligence, Finance, Health. They receive classified briefings, vote on legislation that moves markets, and oversee the very industries they're allowed to invest in.
Under the STOCK Act (2012), they are required to publicly disclose trades within 45 days. That's the only transparency the law requires.
The result? A pattern that's impossible to ignore. Defence committee members buying defence stocks before contract awards. Finance committee members buying bank stocks before regulation changes. Intelligence committee members buying tech stocks before classified AI contracts close.
This isn't conspiracy — it's publicly available data. The problem is that nobody was putting it together in one place, making it actionable for everyday investors.
Until now.
There are other sites that show you congressional trades. We went further.
Everything on Trade The Hill is based on publicly available government data. We don't have inside sources. We don't have leaked information. Congressional trades originate from the official House and Senate disclosure portals below, delivered to us through licensed data providers — congressional trading data via the Quiver Quantitative API — who parse the filings; we then enrich, score and connect that data — and make it useful.
We started Trade The Hill out of a simple frustration. The disclosures required by the STOCK Act are public, detailed, and full of useful information — yet almost no one was turning them into something an ordinary investor could actually use.
Most tools stop at a plain table of trades. No committee context, no link to pending legislation or contract awards, no analysis, no alerts. Just raw filings that leave you to do the hard work yourself, if you even know where to begin.
So we built the platform we wished existed: one that takes public data, applies real intelligence to it, and gives retail investors the kind of context that institutional analysts have relied on for years.
We don't tell you what to do with your money. We show you what the people writing the rules are doing with theirs — and leave the decisions to you.
That's the whole idea.
